No closet? No dresser? If you want to store your clothing on a rack but don’t love the idea of letting everything hang out, use curtains to hide your DIY closet area.

Don’t dump shoes at the bottom of your closet. Use a rack! Whether a beautiful wooden display rack to show off your shoe collection, or a standard metal model for inside your closet, keeping your shoes neatly organized prevents them from getting prematurely scuffed and worn.
Utilize Corners
If you don’t mind leaving your clothes exposed, this corner bar is a handy storage option for tight spaces. Have a closet and don’t need extra hanging space? Install the corner bar anyway and create a spot where you can prep your outfit for tomorrow.

Functionality is a key part in how I incorporate mindfulness into my life at home & has been especially necessary for me to maintain a sense of calm while living in a small Brooklyn apartment. The width of my bedroom is shorter than I am & just a few inches wider than a queen-size bed. When I first moved in, this space fit an unlofted bed & a dresser. I took advantage of the height of the ceilings and have doubled the space where the bed once sat low to the floor by lofting the bed. Now I get to have a distinct sleeping space above & a working space/desk + a lounge space below (where I actually sleep 70% of the time after falling asleep to a David Attenborough documentary or an episode of "I Love Lucy"). The additional space has added so much functionality in my life which has invited in so much more peace & serenity.

It’s tough to store everything you own in a tiny bedroom. A loft bed frees up floor space and provides extra room for a desk or bookshelves.
