UNBOXING: ASUS VivoBook S14 in a youthful Resolute Red color!
Posted by admin on
During days that feel bleak and weary, I usually look at the colorful side of things – literally talking about bright eye-catching hues! You’ve seen me unbox candy-colored phones before, so now, it’s time to show off another gadget with the same uplifting vibe. Meet the new laptop from ASUS Philippines – the ASUS VivoBook S14 in a youthful Resolute Red color.
UNBOXING
The VivoBook S14 also comes in three other colors – Gaia Green, Dreamy White, and Indie Black.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I’ve already mentioned this in my unboxing video but for the reference of those who prefer reading, let me say this again: I love the uplifting and youthful chassis colors of this laptop. Aside from the bright red exterior, I appreciate how ASUS is encouraging their consumers to personalize their laptops with creative stickers – starting from the 5-piece set in the box and the sheet of small stickers for the laptop camera. The keyboard exudes the same vibe as well with its silver shiny finish and yellow color-blocking Enter key.
Audio quality is good, probably because it’s also certified by Harman Kardon. Only felt minimal vibrations on the keyboard even with the audio at full blast, too.
For a thin and light 14-inch laptop, it’s also great that ASUS was able to include a lot of ports on the sides. I love thin laptops but I hate it when brands require consumers to use external cables just to be able to use multiple flash drives at once. ASUS solved just that. With a weight of 1.4 kg and an ultrathin profile at 1.59 mm, it offers effortless portability.
It’s not just pretty, though. The VivoBook S14 is also strong enough to compete with newly released laptops in the market. Having an Intel® Core i7 processor and NVIDIA® GeForce® MX350 discrete graphics, with 8 GB RAM, and a large-capacity 512GB PCIe® SSD storage, the VivoBook S14 seems like a good choice for those looking for a laptop.
I’m not a fan of bulky chargers that require an adapter but I can live with it since it manages to charge the device pretty fast, so it’s not much of a problem. The downside that I can see at the moment is its HD Camera that doesn’t look so HD, but overall, it’s looking good. Drop by again next week for our full review of this laptop. Let’s see if it can keep up with the pace of our lifestyle before we share our final thoughts.
