How many different ways have you tried to get your students to learn their division facts? Are you looking for a way to make division fact fluency practice more fun for your students? If so, you’re in luck! In this blog post, I’m sharing some fun and engaging ways to practice division facts with your students in a way that will stick. So, keep reading to learn more!
Use Games
Games are a great way to make any subject more fun, including division! There are many great board games and card games that focus on practicing basic division facts. You can also find tons of free online games that students can play to brush up on their skills.
You can play a fun game of Scoot with these Division Facts Error Analysis task cards or flash cards. Just place one card on each student’s desk, give students a recording sheet, and have them rotate through all the cards. Scoot games combine two worthwhile elements: fact fluency practice and getting kids up and moving!
Incorporate Technology
Technology is a great way to engage kids and get them excited about learning. There are tons of great apps and websites that focus on practicing division facts. You can also find digital activities that build division fact fluency. Many of them are great for math centers or math rotations.
Get Creative with Worksheets
If you’re looking for a more traditional way to practice division facts, there are still plenty of ways to make it more fun! Try using division worksheets that have students solve division problems in multiple ways, such as building arrays, creating equal groups, and solving word problems.
Make it a Competition
Kids love competition, so why not use it to your advantage? Turn practice into a friendly competition by seeing who can answer the most problems correctly in a given time or by awarding points for correct answers.

Take it Outside
Sometimes getting students out of their seats is all it takes to get them engaged and excited about learning again. If the weather permits, take your division fact practice outside! Have students solve problems on the sidewalk with chalk or try working with shredded paper or leaves if you’re feeling adventurous!
Practicing division facts doesn’t have to be boring! With a little creativity, you can engage your students and help them succeed. These ideas are just a starting point – get creative and see what works best for your class!
